Education Ministry
Mission
There is a sense in which Catholicism is a distinct worldview. The wealth of our tradition gives us a lens through which we name and place events in our own time. Everything that was before us is part of us now. Catholic Social Teaching is an articulation of the foundations of our faith. The Education ministry of St. Ignatius parish seeks to animate Catholic Social Teaching (CST) among all parishioners through consistent communication, action planning and implementation of educational programming and curated resources. The themes of CST (https://www.usccb.org/beliefs-and-teachings/what-we-believe/catholic-social-teaching/seven-themes-of-catholic-social-teaching) are a framework for telling our story.

Goal
The Education ministry shall serve as a resource that parishioners can access to be aware of and participate in Catholic Social Teaching in the parish.
Key Objectives
Through Education Ministry, parishioners will:
-
Engage with educational offerings that support understanding of CST;
-
Access a curated list of documents and articles relevant to CST;
-
Access a calendar of all pending CST actions in the parish;
-
Identify volunteer opportunities for CST service;
-
Announce opportunities for hospitality engagement in support of CST.
